Job Objective

• The Poultry Farm Manager will be responsible for managing the safety and efficiency of poultry farm operations.

Job Description

• Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in raising poultry, collecting eggs, crating fryers, and maintaining equipment and facilities on poultry farm and ascertain production requirements and to discuss condition of equipment and status of supplies.
• Ensuring all aspects of running the farm are met
• Responsible for prioritizing tasks and budgeting allocation of machinery and workers for the farm in order to ensure smooth functioning of the poultry farm.
• Assigns workers to duties, such as collecting and candling eggs, feeding and vaccinating poultry, crating and shipping fryers, and cleaning and fumigating chicken houses.
• Directs maintenance and repair of facilities and equipment, such as chicken houses, automatic feeders, and layer nests.
• Train new and existing workers
• Prepares workers attendance, egg production, feed consumption, and poultry mortality reports
• Maintaining safe working practices
• Managing and motivating a team
• Ensuring welfare of livestock
• Ventilation management

• Vaccinations
• Production performance
• Record keeping

Job Requirements

• A Degree or HND in Agric and Animal Science or related Degree will be considered
• Experience in Chicken Breeding however someone with other poultry experience would be considered.
• Have the ability to plan, organize, prioritize, calculate, concentrate and handle pressure.
• Effective people management skills
• Must possess strong communication and leadership skills.
• Must have mechanical aptitude and trouble shooting skills.

Salary
N50,000 - N60,000 / Month.
