    Farm Manager

    Job Summary

    • The Farm Manager is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and supervision of all farm operations across multiple agricultural enterprises, including crop production, poultry, fishery, and livestock
    • . The role ensures efficient farm productivity, proper utilization of resources, compliance with agricultural best practices, and achievement of production and profitability targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, organize, and oversee daily farm operations across crop, poultry, fishery, and livestock units.
    • Develop and implement annual and seasonal production plans to meet business objectives.
    • Supervise farm supervisors, field officers, and farm workers, ensuring productivity and adherence to work schedules.
    • Monitor crop cultivation activities, including land preparation, planting, irrigation, fertilizer application, pest and disease control, and harvesting.
    • Oversee poultry operations, including broiler and layer management, vaccination schedules, feeding programs, biosecurity, and production performance.
    • Manage fish farming activities, including pond preparation, stocking, feeding, water quality management, harvesting, and fish health.
    • Ensure the proper care, feeding, breeding, and health management of livestock where applicable.
    • Monitor inventory of farm inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, feeds, chemicals, veterinary supplies, and equipment.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules for farm machinery, vehicles, irrigation systems, and other equipment.
    • Prepare and manage farm budgets while monitoring operational costs to improve profitability.
    • Maintain accurate records of production, inventory, sales, expenses, mortality, yields, and staff attendance.
    • Implement sustainable farming practices and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
    • Identify and implement innovative farming techniques to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
    • Coordinate procurement of farm inputs and ensure timely availability of resources.
    • Liaise with agronomists, veterinarians, government agencies, suppliers, and other stakeholders as required.
    • Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual operational reports for Management.
    • Ensure security of farm assets, equipment, livestock, and harvested produce.
    • Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Agriculture, Agricultural Science, Animal Science, Crop Science, Agronomy, Fisheries, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
    • Willingness to travel within the south westh region.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years' practical experience managing a commercial farm.
    • Demonstrated experience in crop production, poultry farming, fish farming, and/or livestock management.
    • Experience managing large farm teams and coordinating multiple farming activities simultaneously.

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of modern agricultural practices and farm management techniques.
    • Good understanding of poultry production systems, fish farming, crop cultivation, and livestock management.
    • Knowledge of irrigation systems, fertilizer application, pest and disease management.
    • Strong leadership, supervisory, and people management skills.
    • Good financial and budgeting skills.
    • Ability to analyze farm performance and prepare operational reports.
    • Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
    • High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail

    Benefits

    • Salary: N300,000 - N450,000 monthly.
