Job description

• he Factory Lead Operator oversees day-to-day operations on the factory floor, ensuring that production targets, quality standards, and safety procedures are met. This role combines technical knowledge with team leadership, coordinating operators, monitoring machines, and supporting efficiency in a fast-paced environment like a bakery.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Oversight

• Supervise daily production activities to ensure output meets planned quantity, quality, and timeline.
• Operate and monitor machinery, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
• Ensure correct use of raw materials and adherence to recipe specifications (e.g., mixing, baking, slicing, packaging processes in bakery operations).

Team Leadership

• Lead and coordinate a team of operators, assign tasks, and ensure discipline and productivity.
• Train new or junior operators on equipment handling, safety protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Communicate shifts, handovers, and issues clearly across team and supervisors.

Quality & Safety Assurance

• Monitor product quality throughout the production cycle, reporting and correcting deviations.
• Enforce compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards.
• Conduct routine checks and support corrective actions to minimize defects or contamination.

Equipment Management

• Perform basic troubleshooting and report technical faults to maintenance.
• Ensure machinery and workstations are clean, functional, and safe.
• Maintain production logs, downtime records, and shift reports.

Continuous Improvement

• Suggest process improvements to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
• Support implementation of Lean, 5S, or other productivity tools as introduced by management.
