    Facility Patrol Security Officer

    Main Function

    • The Facility Patrol Security Officer is responsible for conducting routine patrols across the hotel premises to ensure the safety and security of guests, staff, assets, and facilities. The role involves monitoring activities within the hotel, preventing unauthorized access, responding to incidents, and enforcing security protocols in line with established policies.
    • The ideal candidate must be alert, disciplined, physically fit, and capable of responding effectively to security situations in a hospitality environment.

    Role Responsibilities

    Facility Patrol and Monitoring

    • Conduct regular patrols of all floors, guest corridors, public areas, parking lots, and back-of-house spaces.
    • Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to prevent unauthorized access.
    • Ensure doors, gates, and access points are properly secured.
    • Observe and report any suspicious activity or security breaches.

    Access Control

    • Verify identification of visitors, contractors, and vendors before granting access.
    • Enforce access control policies and guest security procedures.
    • Prevent loitering and unauthorized presence within the premises.

    Incident Response

    • Respond promptly to alarms, disturbances, or emergency calls.
    • Assist in handling disputes, disturbances, or disruptive behavior calmly and professionally.
    • Support emergency evacuation procedures during fire drills or real incidents.
    • Report all incidents accurately and in a timely manner.

    Safety and Risk Prevention

    • Identify and report safety hazards such as spills, faulty equipment, or fire risks.
    • Ensure compliance with fire safety and emergency response protocols.
    • Monitor CCTV systems when assigned and report irregularities.
    • Conduct security checks on vulnerable areas during shifts.

    Asset Protection

    • Safeguard hotel property, equipment, and guest belongings.
    • Monitor loading and unloading of goods to prevent theft or loss.
    • Ensure vehicles entering and leaving the premises are properly checked when required.

    Collaboration and Coordination

    • Work closely with hotel management and other departments to maintain safety standards.
    • Coordinate with local security agencies or law enforcement when necessary.
    • Participate in security briefings and shift handovers.

    Documentation and Reporting

    • Maintain accurate patrol logs and incident reports.
    • Record daily observations and submit reports to the Security Supervisor.
    • Document unusual occurrences or breaches of security policy.

    Competencies/Skills

    • Strong observation and surveillance skills
    • Knowledge of basic security procedures and access control
    • Ability to handle emergencies calmly and professionally
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Basic understanding of CCTV systems and security equipment
    • Physical fitness and stamina

    Experience / Qualification

    • Minimum of SSCE or equivalent qualification
    • 2–5 years’ experience in security services, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment
    • Security training or certification is an added advantage
    • Basic knowledge of fire safety and emergency response procedures
