The Facilities Officer will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations and maintenance of a facility.
He/She will ensure that the building, equipment, and systems are functioning properly, and will help maintain a safe, efficient, and pleasant environment for all occupants.
The Facilities Officer will assist in the execution of maintenance tasks, vendor management.
Responsibilities
Perform or supervise routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, repairs, and inspections of building systems (e.g. plumbing, electrical).
Respond to maintenance requests and resolve issues promptly.
Assist in ensuring that the facility complies with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Conduct regular safety checks, and participate in fire drills and emergency preparedness activities.
Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for maintenance, repairs, and service delivery (e.g., cleaning, security, landscaping).
Ensure that services are provided in accordance with agreed-upon terms.
Help with space planning and office reconfigurations, including the management of office layouts, furniture, and equipment. Assist in moves and relocations as required.
Monitor and manage inventory of supplies, such as cleaning products, tools, and office equipment.
Ensure that stock is replenished in a timely manner.
Keep records of maintenance tasks, service requests, inspections, and compliance with regulations. Prepare reports on facility status and any ongoing issues
Skills & Qualifications
Minimum of HND
Proven experience in a facilities-related role (e.g., maintenance, custodial services, or building operations).
Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures.
Basic understanding of health and safety regulations and environmental practices.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, contractors, and external vendors.
Ability to use basic office equipment and facilities management software.
Working Conditions:
Full-time, Monday through Saturday, during regular business hours
May require occasional evening, weekend, or on-call work depending on the needs of the facility
Some physical work may be required, including lifting or carrying supplies and performing minor repairs
