    Facility Officer

    JOB SUMMARY:

    • This role is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the efficient operation and maintenance of physical spaces within an organization. It involves managing facility resources, ensuring a safe and functional environment, and implementing policies to optimize facility performance.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Facility Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of facilities, including buildings, equipment, and grounds. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal functionality.
    • Safety and Security: Implement and enforce safety and security protocols to protect personnel and property. Conduct regular safety inspections and address potential hazards promptly.
    • Space Planning: Coordinate and optimize the allocation of office space to meet organizational needs. Collaborate with relevant departments to plan for future space requirements. 
    • Vendor Management: Liaise with external service providers and vendors for facility-related services. Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure cost-effective and high-quality services. 
    • Budget Management: Develop and manage the facility budget, ensuring efficient use of resources. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.  
    • Compliance: Ensure compliance with local regulations and building codes. Keep abreast of industry standards and best practices in facility management.  
    • Environmental Sustainability: Implement environmentally sustainable practices within the facility. Identify opportunities for energy efficiency and waste reduction.  
    • Fulfilling Other Responsibilities as Delegated or Assigned: Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as needed to meet the evolving needs of the organization.

    EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

    SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Facility Management.
    • Proven experience in facility management or a related role.
    • Knowledge of facility operations, maintenance, and best practices.
    • Familiarity with safety regulations and protocols.
    • Ability to implement and oversee security measures effectively.
    • Strong organizational and space optimization skills.
    • Ability to collaborate with various departments to meet space needs.
    • Negotiation skills and experience in vendor management.
    • Knowledge of service contracts and agreements.
    • Financial acumen for budget development and management.
    • Analytical skills to identify cost-saving opportunities.
    • Understanding of local regulations and building codes.
    • Continuous learning to stay updated on industry standards.
    • Knowledge of sustainable practices and commitment to environmental responsibility.
    • Ability to implement and monitor green initiatives.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
