JOB SUMMARY
Responsible for supervision of planning, coordination, and execution of fabrication processes within an oil and gas fabrication yard in Nigeria. This role involves ensuring that work is completed efficiently, to specification, on time, and within budget, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety. Facilities fabricated will include jackets and platform decks, up to 1,000MT weight, with systems including process piping, electrical and instrumentation, and SCADA, as well as other structural assemblies required in offshore and onshore production fields. Interact with Clients on a regular basis.
Scope of operations is small but will grow to as much as 5MM man-hours annually within the next 2-3 years.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage the daily operations of an oil and gas fabrication yard, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
- Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and optimize commercial efficiencies within the yard.
- Manage/supervise yard crews and equipment, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of facilities.
- Manage production planning, budgeting, scheduling, and reporting.
- Collaborate with project managers, supply chain, and engineers to ensure project objectives are met within established timelines and budgets.
- Provide regular project updates and reports to stakeholders.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Monitor and evaluate the performance of fabrication equipment with a view to timely scheduling of preventive maintenance and/or replacements to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Ensure the fabrication yard is running as well as it possibly can, with a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of the Company and the Client.
- Ensure operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIRED
- Experience with profit/loss accountability.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in any relevant engineering discipline from a reputable tertiary institution.
- 15-20 years oil and gas industry experience as a member of oil and gas fabrication yard management teams.
- At least 5 years of proven experience as a Fabrication Yard Manager in oil and gas upstream industry with a contractor organization.
