    Executive Assistant the CEO

    Bumpa is a venture-backed platform powering digital commerce for retail/D2C businesses in Africa. Our platform enables merchants to build websites, manage inventory, engage customers, and receive payments, all from their mobile devices. In over three years, we’ve empowered over 80,000 merchants, built a team of 50+ passionate people, and raised over $4M from top-tier African and global investors. We’re hiring a sharp, proactive, and highly organized Executive Assistant to support the CEO in driving operational excellence, strategic initiatives, and stakeholder coordination. This is not a traditional EA role. You’ll operate as a strategic partner, balancing fast-moving logistics, decision-making support, internal coordination, and external representation. The ideal candidate is a master of execution, calm under pressure, and thrives in high-growth startup environments.

    Key Responsibilities

    Executive Support & Calendar Management

    • Own and optimize the CEO’s dynamic calendar, managing internal and external meetings, travel, and deep work.
    • Prepare briefings, agendas, and context documents to ensure the CEO is always prepared.
    • Track and follow up on key deliverables, ensuring priorities move forward.
    • Collaborate with team leads to gather inputs and align timelines with the CEO’s feedback.

    Communication & Coordination

    • Act as the CEO’s first point of contact, screening, responding to, or escalating requests.
    • Draft high-quality emails, briefs, memos, and reports.
    • Liaise with internal cross-functional teams, partners, investors, and media with professionalism and speed.
    • Communicate changes and updates clearly and promptly.
    • Handle confidential and sensitive matters with integrity and discretion.

    Travel, Events & Logistics

    • Manage travel planning and itineraries for domestic and international trips, including visa applications, accommodation, ground transport, and schedules.
    • Support the CEO’s participation in conferences, retreats, external events, and speaking engagements.

    Productivity & Systems Optimization

    • Implement systems and tools to improve the CEO’s workflow, communication, task management, and efficiency.
    • Maintain a proactive approach to reducing context switching and optimizing deep work time.

    Requirements

    • 3–5+ years in an Executive Assistant or high-level support role for a C-suite leader, founder, or high-impact team.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
    • Proven experience managing calendars, travel, and operations across multiple time zones.
    • Strong emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and integrity.
    • Proficiency in Google WorkspaceSlackNotionAsana, and video conferencing tools.
    • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with grace and grit.
