ESG Manager at Proten

Job Description

The role will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating environmental, social and corporate governance activities within the Company, as well as ensuring adequate health, safety and environment processes are in place.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop strategies and policies to manage ESG, HSE and sustainability matters within the Company taking into consideration leading practices.
• Ensure a healthy and safe environment for humans and livestock on the farm.
• Develop and implement safety policies and plans across the business.
• Ensure compliance with relevant health, safety and regulatory requirements, including biosecurity and ESG measures.
• Conduct and report on bio-security risk assessments periodically, identifying risk mitigating strategies.
• Conduct preliminary ESG due diligence assessments on projects and activities, and liaise with external ESG consultants, as required.
• Maintain records on the ESG and HSE performance of the company in line with defined metrics, including benchmark analysis.
• Identify emerging ESG and HSE risks, and design mitigating measures.
• Identify technologies that enhance the company’s HSE performance and recommend same for deployment.
• Facilitate relevant training programs to sensitive staff and visitors on the company’s ESG and safety policies.
• Ensure safety gears are optimally stocked and properly deployed.
• Ensure safety signs are well-positioned across the farm.
• Ensure safety devices are well-maintained.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum of 4 years' experience in an ESG/ bio-health management role with a minimum of 1 year in a senior officer role
• Strong understanding of the Agribusiness Value Chain
• Relevant undergraduate degree; Master’s degree in a relevant field is desirable.
• Relevant certifications would be a plus
• An analytical mind, comfortable with numbers
• Strong leadership and organizational skills
• Excellent interpersonal, networking and communication skills
