    Environmental Health Practitioner

    Description 

    • Environmental Health Practitioners make sure that troops have a clean, safe environment that’s free of health risks. Could you keep them fit and well?
    • For an active, capable Army we need every soldier and officer to be fit and well. That means protecting our troops’ health and wellbeing, wherever they are in the world. As an Environmental Health Practitioner, you advise commanders on environmental health, occupational hygiene, preventing disease and environmental protection.
    • Whenever troops are deployed, you go out beforehand on reconnaissance missions to assess the location and risks. It’s vital work, which means you’ll get the highest standard of training.
    • The Royal Army Medical Corps (RAMC) is responsible for maintaining the health of servicemen and women.
    • The Corps is represented wherever British Soldiers are deployed, providing medical support to operations, exercises and Adventurous Training expeditions all over the world.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Get a fully recognised civilian BSc in Environmental Health
    • Help prevent disease outbreaks
    • Give military commanders guidance on water and food safety
    • Advise frontline troops on the safest places to build military bases and camps

    Entry Requirements
    Age:

    • From 17 years & 9 months to 35 years & 6 months

    Qualifications:

    • 112 UCAS points.
    • GCSE Grade A–C/9-4, or Scottish Highers, in at least English Language, Maths and two sciences.

    Basic physical fitness assessment:

    • Mid Thigh Pull 50kg
    • Medicine Ball Throw 2.7m
    • MSFT (beep test) level 5.8

    Pay & Benefits

    • You'll earn £25,200 a year from the start of your training, which will go up as you progress throughout your career.
