Job Summary

• The EHS Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety systems within the homecare products manufacturing facility to ensure compliance with applicable legal requirements, company standards, and industry best practices.
• The role supports safe manufacturing operations, environmental responsibility, and the health and well-being of employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and monitor EHS policies, procedures, and programs in line with regulatory and company requirements.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations applicable to manufacturing and chemical handling.
• Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analyses (JSA), and hazard identification for plant operations.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions.
• Monitor environmental aspects including effluent, emissions, waste management, and chemical storage.
• Organize safety training, toolbox talks, emergency drills, and EHS awareness programs for employees and contractors.
• Maintain EHS documentation, permits, registers, and regulatory reports.
• Support internal and external audits, including ISO 14001, ISO 45001, GMP, and applicable FMCG standards.
• Promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement across the factory.

Requirements
Educational Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following or related fields:

• Environmental Science
• Occupational Health & Safety
• Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, or Industrial)
• Chemistry
• Industrial Safety

Professional Certifications:
Required / Advantage:

• NEBOSH IGC or NEBOSH General Certificate
• ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) Lead/Internal Auditor
• ISO 14001 (Environmental Management) Lead/Internal Auditor
• HSE Level 3 or equivalent certification
• Membership of a recognized safety body (e.g., IOSH, ISPON) is an added advantage

Experience & Skills:

• 2 – 5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment. Experience in homecare, personal care, chemical processing, or related manufacturing is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of workplace safety, environmental regulations, and GMP requirements.
• Good communication, training, and leadership skills.
• Ability to conduct audits, inspections, risk assessments, and safety training.
• Proficiency in MS Office and EHS reporting tools.
