    Electrical Project Engineer

    Job Description

    • We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Project Engineer with strong site execution, design coordination, and project management capabilities.
    • The role involves overseeing the implementation of electrical systems in commercial buildings, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant installations.
    • The ideal candidate will manage power distribution systems, building services, and provide technical solutions to design challenges during construction.

    Key Responsibilities
    Site Execution & Design Coordination:

    • Lead electrical project execution on-site, ensuring work is delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
    • Design and manage main power systems for commercial buildings and offices, including distribution circuits to individual units.
    • Coordinate design changes and modifications as site conditions evolve; ensure all changes are properly documented and approved.
    • Review and interpret electrical drawings, BOQs, and specifications, and resolve technical design issues during construction.

    Power Systems & Building Services Management:

    • Manage and maintain building services including lighting, power distribution, HVAC, and lift systems.
    • Work with high and low voltage equipment and systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
    • Oversee power generation, transmission, and distribution components where applicable.
    • Support integration of renewable energy sources and energy-efficient solutions.

    Technical Planning & Feasibility:

    • Conduct feasibility studies for new technical developments and propose practical solutions.
    • Prepare project plans, models, circuit diagrams, and technical documentation.
    • Provide accurate budgeting and time estimation for electrical works.
    • Support procurement and material approval processes.

    Supervision, Testing & Commissioning:

    • Supervise the work of technicians, electricians, and subcontractors.
    • Ensure proper installation practices, quality standards, and compliance with codes.
    • Lead testing, inspection, and commissioning activities for electrical systems.
    • Oversee inspection and maintenance programs and ensure all systems operate correctly before handover.

    Client & Stakeholder Liaison:

    • Liaise with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
    • Attend project meetings and provide regular progress updates.
    • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure smooth project delivery.

    Requirements & Qualifications

    • B.Sc / B.Tech / HND / M.Sc in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
    • Minimum 5 years post-NYSC relevant experience in electrical engineering services and site management.
    • Registered member of COREN & NSE (mandatory).
    • Proven experience in site management and execution of electrical projects.
    • Strong understanding of high and low voltage systems, power distribution, and building services.
    • Proficient in AutoCAD or Revit (essential).
    • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage design changes during execution.
    • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
    • Knowledge of safety regulations and quality standards.
