Editorial Assistant at Mariblock

What we're looking for

• Mariblock is looking for an Editorial Assistant with a passion for journalism and an interest in blockchain, AI, and digital assets. The intern will be wholly integrated into our editorial team and contribute to our high-quality coverage of crypto and blockchain developments in Africa. In addition to earning an allowance, this is a valuable education role in which interns will work directly with the lead editor.

Responsibilities

• Report and write news/analysis articles on crypto, blockchain, and AI developments in Africa.
• Research and identify newsworthy crypto/blockchain stories, events and developments relating to the African continent.
• Conduct fact-checking and research to support Mariblock's editorial efforts.
• Contribute to a variety of other editorial projects including, but not limited to newsletters, videos and podcast productions, Q&As, infographics and other forms of visual storytelling — as well as events and webinars.

Qualifications

Note: We’re giving preference to new NYSC members for this position.

• A degree in journalism, English, communications, or a related field.
• Strong writing and storytelling skills.
• Basic understanding of blockchain and AI is a plus.
