    Early Years Foundation Stage Leader

    Key Role:

    • As the Early Years Foundation Stage Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping young minds and fostering excellence within our educational community.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Educational Leadership: Provide visionary leadership, strategic guidance, and effective management to ensure the continuous enhancement of our Foundation Stage.
    • Collaborative Leadership: Contribute to and support the school's leadership as a valued member of the Senior Leadership Team.
    • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of ongoing school improvement and professional development, with a focus on Early Years Foundation Stage practices and policies.
    • Teaching and Learning: Assume overall responsibility for the quality and standards of teaching and learning throughout the Foundation Stage. This involves comprehensive analysis and regular reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, county advisors, and governors when necessary.
    • Professional Development: Stay abreast of the latest trends in teaching and learning, sharing this knowledge with your colleagues to foster continuous improvement.
    • Policy Formulation: Collaborate in the development of aims, objectives, and policies for the Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring their effective implementation.
    • Curriculum Excellence: Champion the delivery of a creative and stimulating curriculum within the Early Years Foundation Stage, fostering a culture of innovation.
    • Best Practice Sharing: Promote the exchange of effective teaching methods and learning strategies among staff within the Foundation Stage.
    • Assessment and Support: Ensure compliance with Early Years Foundation Stage requirements, including assessment and moderation. Provide targeted support to individuals and groups of pupils based on assessment data.
    • Student Success: Create an environment where all children in the Early Years Foundation Stage can achieve their fullest potential.
    • Policy Evaluation: Continuously evaluate the impact of Early Years Foundation Stage policies, practices, targets, and priorities. Collaborate with the leadership team to drive improvements.
    • Leadership Development: Foster leadership potential in others and contribute significantly to the school's leadership tasks as a member of the Senior Management Team.
    • Strategic Collaboration: Work closely with the Head, Deputy Head, and Senior Leadership Team in planning, implementing, reviewing, and evaluating the School Plan.
    • Policy Implementation: Support the Head Teacher in implementing school policies and practices, contributing to the school's development.
    • Role Model: Lead by example, demonstrating outstanding teaching practices to all staff.
    • Class Teaching: Teach students across the Early Years Foundation Stage and hold class teacher responsibility for one class.
    • Safeguarding: Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to ensure the effective implementation of the school's safeguarding policy.
    • Team Management: Act as a line manager for all staff in the Foundation Stage, overseeing performance management and individual professional development.
    • Community Engagement: Actively build relationships with parents and the broader community, including pre-schools and nurseries.
    • Staffing Coordination: Efficiently manage day-to-day staffing operations within the Foundation Stage.
    • Accountability: Report directly to the Headteacher.

    • To be considered for this position, you must meet the following UK educational system requirements:

    Qualifications:

    • Hold a recognized teaching qualification from a UK institution.
    • Possess Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.

    Experience:

    • Have 7 years experience as a primary school teacher, with a focus on Early Years Foundation Stage.
    • Demonstrate experience in a leadership or management role within an educational setting.

    Skills and Knowledge:

    • In-depth understanding of the UK National Curriculum, particularly in the Early Years Foundation Stage.
    • Familiarity with current developments in teaching and learning, with the ability to share this knowledge with colleagues.
    • Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
    • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
