    Driver

    Responsibilities

    • Conducting daily checks on the technical condition of the assigned vehicle, including tires, oil, fuel, brakes, radio equipment, and spare parts.
    • Performing weekly checks as per the MSF Logbook, refueling when necessary, and ensuring the vehicle is clean and in optimal driving condition. Handing over the vehicle properly when used by another driver.
    • Ensuring the safety and security of passengers by driving cautiously, adhering to speed limits, local traffic regulations, and MSF security guidelines to prevent accidents, especially given the specific road conditions and security risks in Maiduguri.
    • Verifying that all passengers have the necessary travel documentation and ensuring non-MSF personnel sign a dischrage of liability form before using the vehicle, considering the heightened security environment in the region.
    • Ensuring correct loading and unloading of the vehicle, submitting the documents to the receiver of the goods, checking the status of delivered goods, returning the duly completed documents to Logistics and ensuring that the goods have the necessary documents
    • Ensuring that all vehicle documents, permits, and the driver’s license are valid, up to date, and available in the vehicle at all times, as local authorities may request them at checkpoints or roadblocks.
    • Promptly reporting any incidents involving the transport of passengers or goods to the line manager, given the security-sensitive context of Maiduguri.
    • Demonstrating a solid understanding of radio communication protocols, memorizing codes, call numbers, and alphabets, and maintaining regular communication with the base according to MSF policies to report location and any security concerns in high-risk areas.
    • Strictly adhering to MSF movement security protocols, especially regarding interactions at customs, checkpoints, and roadblocks, and ensuring all passengers comply with the established safety rules to mitigate potential security threats.
    • Carry on any other delegated tasks and responsibilities justified by operational needs.

    Requirements

    • Interested candidates should possess relevant qualifications with 2 years of experience.
