The Distribution Supervisor is responsible for the effective and efficient planning, execution, and monitoring of the distribution of frozen and ambient products to all customers across the assigned region.
Responsibilities
On a daily basis, by 4:00 PM, generate the Load Manifest and Packing List from Navision and plan customers' orders according to their assigned routes for the next day's deliveries.
Ensure daily preventive maintenance checks are carried out on distribution trucks in conjunction with the 3PL Manager through daily inspections and status reports to meet operational trucking needs.
Monitor the performance metrics of each truck.
Monitor drivers and vehicles to ensure assigned trucks are always clean and properly maintained.
Coordinate with the Regional Sales Manager (RSM) to ensure fixed delivery routes are implemented for new customers within the assigned region.
Provide explanations and input regarding unshipped customer orders within the cluster.
Ensure all truck documents, permits, and licenses are valid, up to date, and renewed when due.
Track compliance with agreed customer route schedules while continuously reviewing and optimizing the route network.
Monitor the efficiency and effectiveness of last-mile distribution operations by mentoring 3PL Managers and their drivers.
Maintain a high level of customer service by driving zero unshipped customer orders.
Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering all orders accurately and on time in accordance with the approved route plan.
Ensure compliance with Health and Safety standards within distribution activities by adhering to all applicable Health and Safety procedures.
Prepare and submit a daily report of orders ready for delivery, including the list of trucks available for the next day's operations.
Reconcile completed trip reports with the 3PL partner in the assigned region and initiate the payment process for completed trips.
Requirements
HND or B.Sc. in any Science-related discipline.
Minimum of 1–3 years' relevant work experience in distribution, logistics, or fleet operations.
Good understanding of fleet management and the fundamental operations of trucking services.
High level of assertiveness and the ability to work effectively across diverse cultural and educational backgrounds.
Strong problem-solving skills with a business-oriented mindset.
Basic managerial and leadership skills, with the ability to apply best practices across business operations.
Strong leadership and influencing skills with a collaborative work style that promotes teamwork.
Proven track record of achieving high productivity and meeting operational targets.
Ability to handle confidential company information with discretion.
Knowledge of major road networks and routes across Nigeria is an added advantage.
