The Distribution/ Release Specialist role is pivotal in coordinating and overseeing the distribution process of music releases, ensuring seamless delivery to various platforms.
You will work collaboratively with artists, label executives, and external partners to ensure the successful release and distribution of music content, contributing to the overall success of the company and artist roster.
Key Responsibilities
Work together with A&R teams, artists, and label executives to streamline the organization of artists, obtain approval for artwork proofs, guarantee sufficient pre-release stock availability for the team, and archive/log all artwork assets for all releases.
Ensure accurate and comprehensive metadata for each release, including track information, album artwork, credits, and other relevant details.
Build and manage new and ongoing relationships with our DSPs (act as operations contact for DSP partners).
Establish and maintain new and continuing connections with our DSPs (serve as DSP partners' point of contact for operations).
Research new distribution channels that will contribute to the continued growth of the company.
Collaborate closely with the marketing team to determine and implement strategies for release & deadlines.
Liaise with the Marketing and Partnerships team to leverage digital marketing tools and initiate commercial partnerships with key markets.
Utilize analytics tools to track the performance of releases on various platforms, providing insights and recommendations for future distribution strategies.
Curate the label-owned playlists across all major streaming platforms and recommend decision strategy for the roll-out and continuous development of these playlists.
Establish and maintain relationships with digital platforms, streaming services, and physical distributors to facilitate smooth and timely music releases.
Oversee the delivery of all artwork to digital platforms, physical retailers, and other distribution channels, coordinating logistics and timelines.
Qualifications
Minimum of 3 years experience in publishing or managing writers and producers.
A proven track record working for a label or label services/distribution company on a variety of formats.
Knowledge of current and future trends in music, music business, and pop culture.
Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills. Certification/experience in project management will be an added advantage.
In-depth knowledge of digital platforms, streaming services, and physical distribution channels.
Knowledge of various music applications and excellent knowledge of the Internet platforms.
Proven experience working with confidential and sensitive information.
Must be a discreet, reliable, professional, and trustworthy individual.
