    Distribution Planning and System Integration Lead

    Role Purpose

    • To lead distribution network planning and system integration by driving data-led investment decisions, long-term load forecasting, and network modelling to support capacity expansion, asset refurbishment, and system reliability.
    • The role ensures that distribution projects are technically sound, economically justified, properly prioritized, and fully compliant with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and Quality, Health & Safety policies, while supporting the organisation’s long-term network performance and growth objectives.

    Role Accountabilities

    • Undertake long term network modelling and load forecasting exercises whose result will be used for decision making of investment proposals and system improvement for capacity expansion of the network/refurbishing of existing assets
    • Identify the project needs based on available data on the database and observations, from load forecasting and network analysis exercises.
    • Ranking the projects on basis of the benefit score. The projects with higher benefit scores should be selected for execution although some exception can be made for extraordinary cases.
    • Oversee bid level engineering, design and drawing of the projects carried out by IE
    • Participate in technical discussions with the Business Unit Managers on the documents/technical papers, test certificates provided
    • Clear the detailed project sanction/report for the proposal after checking and verification of specifications and estimations.
    • Give approval for accepted drawings/equipment/materials and getting the final written approval from Department Head Technical Services and Head Planning and Projects
    • Provide support for preparation of proposals for project under various scheme related to network projects
    • Conduct studies and implement routine system improvement work;
    • Conduct site visits for proposed projects regularly as required. • Identify training needs of officials and arrange to provide the same
    • Monitor department’s performance through Key Performance Measures.
    • Comply with Quality Management System / Occupational Health & Safety requirements including objectives and applicable regulations relating to assigned jobs
    • Perform other duties as requested by the Head of department.

    Minmum Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
    • A postgraduate degree will be an added advantage.
    • 8-10 years of relevant work experience within the power sector.
