Distribution Center Assistant at Field Intelligence

Job Description

• As a DC Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the DC, including receiving and storing products, maintaining inventory accuracy, quality assurance and supporting the distribution process of products.
• The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining highest standards of safety and quality.

Responsibilities:

Receiving and Quality Assurance:

• Receive incoming shipments of products, ensuring accuracy and completeness of incoming packages.
• Perform thorough inspection of received goods to verify their quality, quantity, and compliance with the organisation’s quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Accurately record and update inventory management systems with received goods information.

Storage and Inventory Management:

• Safely and efficiently store products in designated areas within the warehouse, adhering to proper storage guidelines and temperature control requirements.
• Conduct regular inventory counts and maintain accurate records to track stock levels and identify discrepancies or potential shortages.
• Assist with inventory reconciliation and coordinate with relevant departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues.

Order Fulfilment and Dispatch:

• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure proper labelling, packaging, and documentation for outgoing orders.

DC Organization and Maintenance:

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment by following established safety protocols and company standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of warehouse equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs to the appropriate departments.
• Assist in implementing and maintaining effective layout and storage systems for optimal efficiency.

Compliance and Documentation:

• Adhere to relevant regulations, guidelines, and industry best practices, including Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and Good Warehousing Practices (GWP).
• Maintain accurate records of all warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, and dispatch, in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in the preparation of necessary documentation for audits and regulatory inspections.

Requirements:

• Interested candidates should possess minimum of OND or equivalent qualification. Additional certifications or training in logistics, warehousing, or related fields will be a plus.
• Prior experience working in a warehouse or distribution center, preferably in the pharmaceutical or FMCG industry.
• Familiarity with inventory management systems and warehouse management software.
• Knowledge of Good Distribution Practices (GDP) and other relevant regulations and quality standards.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items, and to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
