We are looking for a DevOps / Back-End Developer (E-Commerce) with expertise in Laravel, cloud infrastructure, and payment integration to join our innovative team at HelloMe. This role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable e-commerce and payment processing platforms tailored for financial transactions.

This is an exciting opportunity to thrive in a dynamic fintech environment. You will be responsible for building high-availability infrastructure, optimizing performance, implementing security best practices, and integrating multi-currency, real-time payment processing and fraud detection systems. Collaborating with product managers, designers, and engineering teams, you will ensure seamless, secure, and efficient transaction processing.

Key Responsibilities 

• Design, build, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP) to support high-traffic e-commerce payment systems.
• Ensure high availability, fault tolerance, and low latency for remittance transactions.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and rollback strategies.
• Set up real-time monitoring, alerting, and log analysis for system performance, payment failures, and fraud detection.
• Optimize cloud costs while maintaining security, compliance, and performance benchmarks.
• Implement and maintain PCI DSS-compliant security architectures for payment processing.
• Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability scans, and automated fraud detection.
• Ensure data encryption, API security, and firewall protections to safeguard financial transactions.
• Maintain compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection regulations.
• Set up disaster recovery, backup, and failover mechanisms for business continuity.
• Develop and maintain Laravel-based e-commerce applications to ensure a seamless customer transaction experience.
• Build and optimize RESTful APIs for financial transactions.
• Integrate and secure payment gateways (Stripe, Paystack, Flutterwave) for multi-currency transactions.
• Optimize database performance to handle high-volume transactions.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve performance bottlenecks in backend systems.
• Upgrade and maintain legacy applications, migrating them to modern cloud-based solutions.
• Implement multi-currency payment processing, cross-border transactions, and remittances.
• Set up payment reconciliation and ledger systems for financial tracking.
• Automate refunds, chargebacks, and dispute resolution workflows.
• Work closely with UX/UI teams to enhance the user experience across payment journeys.
• Provide technical support and train teams on best practices in DevOps and back-end development.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional
• AWS Certified Security – Specialty
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
• 4+ years of experience in Core PHP, Laravel, and object-oriented programming.
• Expertise in AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, DynamoDB, S3, API Gateway, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch).
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS).
• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD).
• Experience in payment processing, fraud detection, and financial security protocols.
• Strong knowledge of database design and optimization (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, ElastiCache).
• Familiarity with Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
• Understanding of fintech compliance frameworks (PCI DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001).
• Experience with version control tools (Git, SVN, Mercurial).
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for scripting and automation.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3) for API integrations.
• Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize e-commerce and fintech systems.
• Creative problem-solving mindset focused on delivering business value.
• Agile mindset to adapt to evolving fintech regulations and customer demands.
• Ability to explain technical solutions in business terms to stakeholders.
• Strong documentation skills for system architecture, APIs, and compliance policies.
