Dental Examinations and Diagnoses: Candidate must be able to conduct comprehensive oral examinations, taking patient history, assessing gum health, and identifying potential problems.
Preventive Care: Should be able to provide oral hygiene education, apply fluoride and sealants, and offer advice on dietary habits to help prevent tooth decay and gum disease.
Restorative Procedures: They can perform fillings, extract baby teeth, and place pre-formed crowns on primary teeth.
Periodontal Treatment: Competen at performing scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar, and offer treatments for gum disease
Taking Dental X-rays: Skille to take and interpret dental x-rays, which are essential for diagnosing and monitoring dental conditions.
Oral Cancer Screening: Should be able to perfor oral cancer screenings as part of routine dental examinations.
In addition, the successful candidate should be able administer local anesthesia, take impressions, make mouthguards, and refer patients to dentists for complex cases.
