About the Role

• Supports the delivery of dental care by assisting dental practitioners, preparing the clinical environment, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.

Responsibilities

• Assist dental practitioners chairside during procedures.
• Prepare and maintain the clinical environment, instruments and materials.
• Apply decontamination and infection prevention standards.
• Support patient comfort, safety and records.

Requirements
Education:

• A recognised qualification in dental nursing or dental surgery assisting, or equivalent recognised training.
• Completion of any required internship / registration training, where applicable.

Experience: 

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant dental nursing / support experience; newly qualified dental nurses may be considered.
• Post-registration experience in dental nursing practice. Experience working within a multidisciplinary hospital team relevant to dental nursing.

Required skills:

• Knowledge of dental nursing practice and chairside support.
• Competence in decontamination and infection prevention.
• Understanding of dental materials and instruments.
• Accurate record-keeping.
• Effective communication with patients and the dental team.
