Data Clerk at Nutrition International

Overall, Purpose/Function:

• The position will be responsible for ensuring accurate, timely entry of all project-related facility register data into Datalytics for Nutrition International Program (DANIP) platform, NI customized DHIS2 instance, and support data quality checks, including completion and routine validation.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Entry and Management:

• Enter all project facility register data into DANIP monthly immediately after data collection and validation at the facility and LGA levels are completed, ensuring each month’s registers are fully entered by the 28th of the following month.
• Reconcile physical registers against DANIP entries; flag and resolve any discrepancies in collaboration with LGA Officers.
• Coordinate with LGA Officers to collect completed register forms, verify their completeness, and ensure proper filing in both paper and digital archives.
• Maintain an organized, secure archive of all source documents, with clear labelling by facility and month.

Data Quality Assurance:

• Run routine validation checks in DANIP (duplicates, missing values, outliers) and coordinate with LGA Officers to investigate and correct any errors within two business days of detection.
• Track data‐entry completion rates by facility and by month; escalate unresolved gaps to the LGA Officers and propose corrective action plans.
• Triangulate project‐level register data with entries in the routine NHMIS registers to verify consistency and identify any reporting discrepancies.

Other functions

• Assist in training healthcare workers on accurate data entry, document best practices, and secure storage of facility registers.
• Provide ongoing support to LGA Officers and the State Coordinator, including troubleshooting DANIP and other responsibilities as required.

Summary of Key Deliverables

• Complete entry of all facility registers for each month, due date is 28th of the following month.
• Weekly data‐entry report (completion rates, error logs, corrections), typically every Friday.
• Prepare a consolidated monthly report, completed by the 30th of each month, detailing data‐entry status, quality assurance outcomes, and recommendations for program improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• This position does not have any supervisory functions

Education/Professional Designations/Experience:

Education

• BSc in Statistics, Public Health, Nutrition, Computer Science or related field.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of professional experience in data management and health information systems.
• Prior hands-on experience with DHIS2 (at least 1 year) strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and basic formulas is mandatory.
• Previous experience with national or International NGO preferably in health and nutrition context.
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis

Language Skills

• Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in local language and English.

• Position is based in Bauchi.
