Dance Teacher / Choreographer at Meadow Hall

About the Role

• We are seeking a creative, energetic, and passionate Dance Instructor/Choreographer to join our team.
• The ideal candidate will work with young children, introducing them to the joy of dance through fun, structured, and age-appropriate activities.
• You will be responsible for planning engaging lessons, preparing choreography for school performances, and nurturing each child’s confidence, coordination, and love for movement in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver exciting dance classes for children ages 3–6 years.
• Choreograph routines for school productions, assemblies, and special events.
• Encourage creativity, self-expression, and teamwork among pupils.
• Ensure that all activities are conducted in line with child protection and safeguarding policies.
• Maintain a positive and professional relationship with children, parents, and staff.
• Contribute to the wider creative life of the school.

Requirements

• A background in Dance, Choreography, or Performing Arts.
• Experience teaching or working with young children.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• A warm, patient, and enthusiastic personality.
• Commitment to child protection, safeguarding, and promoting the welfare of children.
• Female candidates are encouraged to apply due to the age group and nature of the role.

Desirable:

• Certification or training in early years education, child development, or performing arts.
• Familiarity with different dance styles (ballet, contemporary, hip-hop, traditional, etc.).
