Purpose/Job Dimension

The job holder is to monitor the ongoing credit risk of existing clients and credit portfolios. You will be responsible for identifying and assessing changes in credit risk, implementing monitoring systems, and providing timely reports and recommendations to support proactive risk management.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain systems for monitoring the credit risk of the overall, portfolio and individual clients.
• Identify early warning signals and potential indicators of credit deterioration or adverse changes in the creditworthiness of clients.
• Conduct regular analyses of credit exposures, assessing the performance and risk profile of individual credits within the portfolio.
• Conduct periodic reviews of existing clients to reassess their creditworthiness and adherence to credit terms.
• Prepare and provide regular reports on credit portfolio performance, risk trends, and potential areas of concern to relevant stakeholders.
• Communicate credit risk assessments and monitoring findings to relationship managers, credit committees, and senior management.
• Collaborate with credit analysts to gather additional information, clarify details, and enhance the overall credit risk assessment process.
• Propose and implement risk mitigation strategies to address identified credit risks and challenges.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards in credit monitoring activities.
• Stay informed about changes in regulatory frameworks and adapt strategies accordingly.
• Maintain accurate and organized documentation of credit monitoring activities, findings, and decisions.

Required Skills and Competencies    

• Proven experience in credit monitoring or a related role within Risk Management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with credit risk monitoring tools and systems.
• Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships at various organizational levels.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Attention to detail and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.

Experience and Qualifications    

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field CA/MBA/PGDM/CFA or other relevant post graduate qualification.
• Minimum of 6 years cognate work experience in Credit Analysis and Risk Management.
• Relevant certifications in risk management, credit analysis, or financial analysis are highly desirable. CRM, PRM or similar certifications.
• Completion of relevant industry training programs or courses in credit risk management, credit analysis, and financial modelling.
• Knowledge of and adherence to industry regulations, compliance standards, and ethical guidelines governing credit monitoring and risk management activities.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders.

• Percentage of the portfolio with low, moderate, and high credit risk.
• Percentage of credits that have migrated to higher to lower risk categories.
• Percentage of total exposure attributed to top clients or industries.
• Number of early warning signals identified.
• Average time taken to conduct periodic credit reviews.
• Percentage of the portfolio covered by regular credit reviews.
• Timeliness and completeness of credit monitoring reports.
• Number of risk mitigation strategies implemented.
• Percentage of past due and delinquent accounts.
