    Credit Control Officer

    Sector: Pharmaceutical

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Develop and monitor a credit control system in collaboration with sales and marketing, finance and executive team members
    • Responsible for sending statement of Accounts to old debtors (at least 10 per week).
    • Ensure that WHT certificate/credit notes are updated and distributed accordingly in conjunction with branch managers.
    • Ensure timely and accurate receipt of customer payments within communicated payment terms.
    • To access, control and approve release of vehicles on credit terms for MOU customers
    • Responsible for Preparation of reminder letters, confirmation of balance etc.
    • Reconcile all accounts involving inconsistent data from non- integrated systems.
    • Manage Customer ledgers ensuring timely reconciliation on key Accounts
    • Track daily remittances for accuracy, credit limits and deductions.
    • Assess, propose, and process credit limits and credit holds
    • Perform and oversee day-to-day efforts related to payment discrepancies, short payments and various customer claims (investigation and documentation, validation against contracts, follow-up & resolution)
    • Provide weekly/monthly report and submit as and when due.

    KEY RESULTS

    • Timely reconciliation of Key accounts
    • Distribution of reminder letters and confirmation balance
    • Accurate Master data of Customers
    • Accuracy in remittance reports
    • Updated accurate WHT

    REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

    • B.Sc/HND Accounting
    • ICAN/ACCA certified
    • 5-7 years’ experience as an accountant with at least 2 years in credit control role.

    • Dynamic personality able to effectively engage and influence a variety of audiences at all levels of a business
    • Highly organized and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
    • Ability to apply critical thinking, demonstrate managerial courage and effectively take unpopular positions, when necessary, to ensure business success.
    • Ability to develop, plan and execute strategies to maximize opportunities
    • Strong analytical and organization skills.
    • Should have a good command over the English language and possess the ability to communicate and correspond directly and indirectly with customers.
