Credit Control Officer at GIG Logistics

About the role:

• The Credit Control Officer is responsible for implementing the company’s credit policies and ensuring that payments are collected promptly tmaintain a healthy cash flow. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited tthe following:

• Evaluate and assess the credit worthiness of new and existing clients, based on financial analysis and history. 
• Monitor outstanding invoices and proactively reach out tclients for overdue payments for debt recovery. 
• Maintain detailed records of client accounts, including payment history, terms, and outstanding balances. 
• Prepare periodic reports on accounts receivable, overdue accounts, and potential bad debts, highlighting any trends or issues for legal actions when necessary 
• Establish credit limits and terms for new clients in partnership with the finance and legal departments, periodically reviewing tadapt tchanging circumstances. 
• Coordinate with the sales teams talign credit policies with customer engagement strategies. 
• Conduct periodic credit policy audits tensure adherence and effectiveness. 
• Work with clients taddress billing inquiries, discrepancies, or disputes in a timely manner. 
• Collaborate with other departments, including finance, sales, and operations, tensure a seamless billing and collection process. 
• Identify potential risks in the credit portfoliand implement strategies tmitigate them. 
• Regularly review industry and economic trends that may impact clients' payment behaviours. 

Education & Experience 

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. 
• 2-4 years of experience in credit control, preferably within the logistics or supply chain industry.

Technical Skills 

• Strong knowledge of credit management principles, accounts receivable, and collections. 
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time-management abilities. 
• Result-oriented and self-motivated 
• Excellent business reporting & presentation skills 
• Ability tmultitask and manage pressure
