Credit Analyst at Nuggets Microfinance Bank

Job Summary

• We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Analyst to evaluate loan applications, assess creditworthiness, and ensure sound lending decisions.
• The ideal candidate will have experience in credit risk assessment, financial analysis, and portfolio management within the microfinance or banking sector in Nigeria.

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluate loan applications to determine creditworthiness in line with institutional policies.
• Conduct detailed financial, business, and character assessments of prospective clients.
• Perform field visits to verify customer information and assess business viability.
• Analyze credit data, financial statements, and collateral to identify risks and recommend approval or rejection.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulatory and internal credit standards.
• Monitor existing loan accounts and follow up on repayments to maintain portfolio quality.
• Generate credit reports and provide recommendations to the credit committee.
• Support business development teams with credit risk insights and product structuring.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree / HND in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum of 1 - 3 years’ experience as a Credit Analyst, Loan Officer, or similar role in a microfinance bank or financial institution.
• Strong knowledge of credit risk management, loan evaluation techniques, and microfinance lending practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
• High attention to detail and strong ethical standards.
