    Cook / Cleaner (Maternity Cover)

    Main Purpose

    • Prepare meals for patients and MSF staff, according to hygiene standards and security rules, in order to ensure their nutritional needs and execute according to hygienic standards, housekeeping, cleaning and tiding up activities in order to ensure public and staff private areas are in good condition.

    Job Description
    Cooking:

    • Carry out the preparation of meals for staff
    • Always follow all hygiene standards and security rules.
    • Control stock of food to ask for anything needed on time and prepare shopping list and make purchases if required.
    • Ensure meals to be served on time.
    • If applicable set table before every meal and clean it up after each meal.
    • Ensure cleanliness of all facilities, utensils and equipments.
    • As domestic cook, ensure the provision of drinkable water during the day and when she / he leaves cleaning, filling the filter and empty bottles, changing batteries if necessary.
    • Look after all equipment provided.
    • Keep an inventory of MSF kitchen utensils and equipment, i.e. plates, glasses, cutlery, cookware, etc., and ensure its integrity.
    • Report all important information (lost, robbery, damages, deterioration, incident, etc) to supervisor.

    Cleaning:

    • Clean bedrooms, bathrooms, toilets and other rooms by brushing and moping.
    • Cleaning and tidy-up tables; coffee table, dining table, kitchen table and cooker, etc.
    • To open windows in the morning and close them in the evening.
    • To prepare meals for lunch and dinner as instructed.
    • Waste disposal.
    • To wash curtain every 3 months.
    • To wash duvet, blanket monthly if not using duvet cover, and every 3 months if using duvet cover.
    • To wash sofa, pillowcase.
    • Keep premises properly locked (doors, windows) when leaving the house.

    Others:

    • To ensure appliances are off and secure before leaving the house, washing machine, dryer, fan, stove, etc.
    • To report if there is a maintenance issue that needs to be done.
    • To report if essential product for cleaning is finished.
    • To ensure materials are properly clean and stored for the next user.

    Requirements

    • Education: Literacy essential, course on cooking desirable
    • Experience: Previous experience desirable.
