What You’ll Lead and Deliver

• The primary responsibility of a Control System Engineer is to design, develop, install, manage, and maintain systems that control machinery, equipment, and processes. These systems are critical for ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient operations in facilities or plants. Here's a more detailed breakdown of the responsibilities and tasks involved:

Designing and Developing Control Systems:

• System Design: Control System Engineers design the control systems that automate and monitor machinery and processes. These systems often use hardware and software to manage operations, and the engineer ensures they are customized to the specific needs of a plant or process.
• Software Programming: Writing software for DCS is essential. The engineer designs algorithms to control the process, ensuring that the system runs efficiently and responds to changes in real-time.
• Hardware Integration: They design and implement the integration of sensors, actuators, and controllers with the machinery to collect data, measure parameters, and control the processes accordingly.

Developing and Implementing System Improvements:

• Analyzing Plant Processes: Control System Engineers continuously analyze the performance of plant processes. They look for opportunities to improve efficiency, minimize waste, and optimize production by adjusting control parameters or upgrading systems.
• Design Improvements: Based on their analysis, they propose improvements to the existing control systems, which could involve upgrading the software, changing hardware components, or modifying control strategies to improve reliability and performance.

Troubleshooting Hardware and Process Issues:

• Fault Detection: A significant part of the engineer’s role is identifying and troubleshooting control systems or equipment issues. This includes diagnosing problems with sensors, actuators, controllers, or the software itself.
• Problem-Solving: The engineer must use technical knowledge to solve problems effectively, sometimes under pressure, to minimize downtime. This can involve manual inspection of hardware or analyzing data from the control system to identify faults.

Planning Preventative Maintenance:

• Maintenance Scheduling: Preventative maintenance is crucial to ensuring that control systems and machinery continue to function without unexpected breakdowns. Control System Engineers plan regular maintenance routines, which can include hardware inspections, software updates, calibration of sensors, and testing of safety protocols.
• Monitoring Performance: By monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) for plant processes, the engineer can foresee potential issues before they arise, ensuring that maintenance tasks are scheduled efficiently to avoid production disruptions.

Collaborating with Teams:

• Teamwork: Control System Engineers work closely with other engineers, plant operators, and management teams. Collaboration is key when troubleshooting issues or implementing solutions. The engineer communicates with operators to understand real-time problems and works with other technical teams to fix them.

Requirements

To Be Successful in This Role, You Must Have:

• 10+ Years of experience in Preventive Maintenance, Remedial maintenance, Call outs, shutdown activities, brownfield modifications, and worked in the Oil & Gas sector.
• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering.
• Working experience with SUPCON system.
• Willing to work on a rotation of 10/3 weeks
