    Construction Manager

    Responsibilities

    • Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force and the work of any subcontractors
    • Commission, organize, and assess the work of contractors.
    • Working with detailed diagrams, plans, and drawings using specialist computer-aided design (CAD) software and other resources to design the systems required for the project.
    • overseeing and supervising the installation of building systems and specifying maintenance and operating procedures.
    • Monitor building systems and processes.
    • Liaise closely with other professionals, including structural engineers, builders, architects and surveyors, and in-house project teams.
    • Attend a range of project groups and technical meetings.
    • Manage, monitor, and interpret the contract design documents supplied by the client or architect.
    • Communicate with clients and their representatives (architects, engineers, and surveyors), including attending regular meetings to keep them informed of progress.
    •   Develop and implement project work plans and review as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
    • Plan the work and efficiently organize the site facilities to meet agreed deadlines.
    • Oversee quality control and health and safety matters on-site.
    • Liaise with any consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors, and the general workforce involved in the project.
    • Liaise with the local authority (where appropriate to the project) to ensure compliance with local construction regulations and by-laws.
    • Innovate and develop new standards, policies, and procedures for engineering work as necessary to minimize costs and maximize efficiency.
    • Check plans, draw, and quantities for accuracy of calculations.
    • Ensure that all materials used, and work performed are as per specifications.
    • Act as the main technical adviser on a construction site for subcontractors, craftspeople, and operatives.
    • Ensure compliance of construction detail documentation to quality control and best practice.
    • Agree on a price for materials and make cost-effective solutions and proposals for the intended project.
    • Remain up to date with current and trending elements of design, construction, and technology.
    • Evaluate projects and provide reports to identify issues and opportunities to improve performance going forward.
    • Organize and maintain project files
    • Assist with collation of all relevant planning documentation and assist with follow-up on approvals where necessary, until consent is obtained for the Group’s projects.
    • Undertake all such other tasks or duties as may be assigned to him from time to time as may be required to meet the needs of the Company.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • Minimum of B.sc or HND in Architecture or Civil Engineering with 5 years in the construction industry is a MUST.
    • Professional certification in Project Management is desirable
    • Interior design experience is an added advantage.
    •  Ability to accomplish goals, evaluate results, develop schedules, and can organize multiple activities effectively utilizing available resources
    • Ability to write reports, presentations to employees, clients, top management.
    •  Proficient in the use of Microsoft Project. Autocad, Revit, Orion, Staadpro.  Microsoft Word, and Ms. excel.

    • Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to interact with executive level external and internal clients
