Construction Lab Technician at Craneburg Construction

Role Overview

• Responsible for conducting laboratory and field tests on soil, asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and other construction materials to verify compliance with project specifications, standards, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, label, and prepare soil, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete samples for testing.
• Perform soil tests, including moisture content, sieve analysis, Atterberg limits, compaction (Proctor), and CBR.
• Perform concrete tests, including slump test, temperature, sampling, cube/cylinder preparation, and compressive-strength testing.
• Perform asphalt tests, including asphalt sampling, aggregate gradation, bitumen/asphalt content, density, and Marshall or relevant mix-design tests.
• Conduct field density testsusing sand-cone or nuclear density methods, where applicable.
• Carry out field tests on concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregates according to approved procedures.
• Operate, clean, calibrate, and maintain laboratory and field-testing equipment.
• Record test results accurately and prepare laboratory and field test reports.

Qualifications

• OND/HND/BSc in Civil Engineering, Geology, Building Technology, Materials Engineering, or a related field.
• Practical experience in soil, asphalt, concrete, aggregate, and field testing.
• Knowledge of construction-material testing standards and procedures.
• Ability to operate laboratory and field-testing equipment.
• Good record-keeping and reporting skills.
• Ability to work on construction sites and in laboratory environments.
