Position Summary:

The Construction Accountant plays a pivotal role in managing the company's accounting and treasury aspects of construction projects. This position involves overseeing project budgets, tracking costs, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and providing financial insights to support project decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and monitor project budgets, taking into account labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and overhead expenses.
• Manage all accounting and treasury functions.
• Collaborate with project managers to optimize resource allocation and enhance project profitability.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for construction projects, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Conduct financial analysis to evaluate project performance, identify trends, and forecast future financial outcomes.
• Perform accounting and treasury functions to secure funding sources and manage banking relationships effectively.
• Review construction contracts, change orders, and subcontractor agreements to ensure contractual terms and conditions compliance.
• Provide financial reporting and analysis to construction managers
• Assist with the development of bids and proposals for new construction projects
• Monitor compliance with government regulations related to construction finance

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or CMA certification preferred.
• Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, preferably in the construction industry.
• Solid understanding of construction accounting principles, project cost management, and financial analysis techniques.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Viewpoint, Procore, Sage 300) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with project stakeholders, vendors, and regulatory authorities.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving abilities.
