    Connectivity Systems and Maritime Electronics Engineer

    About the job

    • Are you a recent graduate with a strong background in electronics and a passion for problem-solving?
    • Fieldbase is seeking an Entry-Level Connectivity Systems and Maritime Electronics Engineer to join our team in Lagos, Nigeria.

    Responsibilities:

    • Installation, maintenance, and repair of maritime electronic equipment such as satellite communication systems, ECDIS, radars, gyros, distress communication equipment, and navigational aids.
    • Conducting regular inspections and testing of electronic equipment to ensure optimal performance.
    • Collaborating with other members of the engineering team to develop solutions to complex problems.
    • Completing projects from start to finish and ensuring that all work is done to a high standard.
    • Writing clear and concise reports for clients and team members.
    • Providing subject matter expert guidance to internal teams and clients

    Requirements:

    • Very strong electronics skills and an understanding of electronic systems (design-level skillset).
    • Experience using RF and electronic measuring instruments e.g. spectrum analysers, oscilloscopes
    • Knowledge of programming languages is an added advantage.
    • Ability to read, understand and apply international regulation on maritime electronic systems.
    • IT skills are desirable.
    • A completion mindset with strong attention to detail and the ability to see projects through to the end.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to write clear and concise reports.
    • A willingness to learn and be trained in the installation, maintenance, and repair of maritime electronic equipment.
    • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
    • Willingness to work on-site and offshore, as required.
