    Compliance and Risk Officer

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    1. Develop and implement robust compliance policies and measures that align with regulatory requirements.
    2. Monitor and report on compliance status, implement corrective actions, and communicate significant issues to the management board.
    3. Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial and operational information
    4. Lead the organization's efforts in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across all departments.
    5. Conduct regular compliance and risk assessment audits, reporting findings to the senior management and devise strategies to mitigate compliance risks.
    6. Facilitate internal and external audits to assess the effectiveness of the compliance program and implement corrective actions.
    7. Conduct due diligence on third-party relationships to ensure compliance standards are met.
    8. Work closely with the legal department to interpret laws and regulations and provide guidance on compliance matters.
    9. Monitor and ensure timeliness, completeness and accuracy of all statutory and regulatory reports to relevant authorities.
    10. Provide training to employees on compliance policies and foster a culture of adherence to ethical standards.
    11. Stay abreast of regulatory updates and industry requirements.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Management or a related field.
    2. Relevant professional certifications e.g ICAN, ACCA, etc
    3. Minimum of 7 years proven work experience in Risk and compliance department in a financial service industry.
    4. Minimum of 3 years experience in a senior management level
    5. In-depth knowledge of Nigerian regulatory requirements, including financial regulations, anti-money laundering laws, and data protection regulations.
    6. Strong investigative, analytical and risk management skills
    7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    8. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
    9. Strong flexibility and commitment to continuous improvement.
    10. Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
    11. Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards.
