    Role Overview 

    We are looking for a hands-on Community & Growth Lead to help build, grow, and nurture the Your Diaspora Hub ecosystem from the ground up. 

    This role combines: 

    • Community building (on our website) 
    • Social media growth and content 
    • Pre-launch traction and waitlist building 
    • Long-term engagement strategy 
    • You will help shape the voice, culture, and energy of the platform. 

    Key Responsibilities 

    Pre-Launch Growth & Audience Building 

    • Grow and manage a waitlist ahead of launch 
    • Develop simple lead magnets or engagement campaigns 
    • Drive traffic to the waitlist through social content 
    • Conduct polls, surveys, and feedback sessions 
    • Identify and recruit 20–50 founding members 
    • Support launch campaign planning and execution 

    Website Community Management (Core Priority Post-Launch) 

    • Manage and moderate the community hosted on the Your Diaspora Hub website 
    • Onboard and welcome new members 
    • Post weekly discussion prompts and resource threads 
    • Foster peer-to-peer conversations 
    • Monitor engagement and member retention 
    • Gather insights from discussions to inform strategy 
    • Identify community champions and ambassadors 
    • The website community is our home base. Social media drives traffic - the platform builds loyalty. 

    Social Media Strategy & Execution 

    • Develop and execute a monthly content plan 
    • Create and schedule engaging content (LinkedIn, Instagram – focus on 2 platforms max initially) 
    • Repurpose community discussions into social content 
    • Grow followers organically 
    • Drive traffic back to the website 
    • Track analytics and optimize performance 

    Community Growth & Partnerships 

    • Engage diaspora organisations and migrant networks 
    • Identify collaboration opportunities 
    • Support digital events and live sessions 
    • Develop simple growth experiments (referral ideas, ambassador programs) 

    Who We’re Looking For 

    • 2+ years in community management, social media, or growth 
    • Experience building or growing online communities 
    • Strong writing and storytelling skills 
    • Comfortable creating content (Canva, short-form video, etc.) 
    • Builder mindset - enjoys starting from zero 
    • Basic understanding of migrant or diaspora experiences 

    KPIs (First 3 Months) 

    Pre-launch: 

    • Waitlist growth 
    • Email engagement rate 
    • Founding members recruited 

    Post-launch: 

    • Website community member growth 
    • % of active members 
    • Engagement rate on social platforms 
    • Traffic from social to website 
    • Event participation
