    Commercial Systems Analyst

    ROLE DESCRIPTION

    • To ensure the efficient and strategic management of Air Peace Limited's airline distribution systems (GDS), inventory controls, pricing, and capacity planning in alignment with the company's revenue, yield, and passenger objectives.
    • This role will also provide operational oversight and guidance to the central reservations system to support overall commercial performance and organizational goals.

    KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Leads in the development and implementation of market strategies to deliver
    • Revenue budget objectives.
    • Analyze enhancements to the airline's distribution system which would benefit
    • APL, both technically and financially, and test same, ensuring other areas are not affected because of these changes
    • Provide an up-to-date authoritative market analysis about APL's business environment, major markets, including economic reviews and forecasts to identify potential opportunities/risks.
    • Ensure the start-up of any new routes as regards to commercial systems requirements.
    • Ensure Data Protection Act is adhered to specifically in relation to police inquiries for passenger information.
    • To ensure the integrity of security of the company's GDS.
    • Development & application of reports to achieve efficient assessment of
    • Commercial performance (Key Commercial Indicators, Historical/ forecast Load factors, etc.)
    • Monitor and control all pricing strategies to deliver yield and revenue targets
    • Monitor inventory Management to ensure optimal seat utilisation that delivers optimal class mix, passenger and revenue targets
    • Develop and apply strategies for optimising traffic and fare mix on routes
    • Actively participates in Company Revenue budget process to ensure Revenue management strategies are in line with Company Business plan.
    • Create and manage all APL seat maps which provide customers with the ability to pre-assign their seats and enable airports to use automated check-in processes.
    • Management of route control default values which contain settings for baggage weights/information printed on boarding passes and weight and balance settings.
    • Ensuring they are current and correct thus ensuring a safe and timely departure.
    • Creating access codes to CRANE system for new recruits
    • Provide effective solutions to operational concerns (system outages, flight disruptions, etc
    • Ensure the CRANE system continually always displays the correct flying programme.
    • Co-ordinate updating and uploading of network schedules

    EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE/

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

    • Attain set targets in terms of Revenue yield and passenger numbers.
    • Timely resolution of GDS errors to minimise loss to the company's revenue.
    • Successful completion and management of GDS projects within agreed timeline.
    • High quality of availability information in all target markets.
    • Pricing strategy that delivers incremental revenue.
    • Incremental revenues because of seat optimization
    • Incremental growth in APL s network and market share.
    • Delivery of input in the annual Revenue Budget plan and seasonal schedule plan.
    • Motivated, productive and proactive.
    • Coordinated actions that yield positive revenues or stem revenue decline.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE

    • University Graduate with 5 years' airline experience, three of which should be in
    • Commercial systems, Revenue management/Pricing.
    • Detailed understanding of Revenue Management and pricing principles.
    • Excellent computer skills.
    • Strong analytical and planning skills.
    • Excellent knowledge of APL products and services.
    • Planning and project management skills.
    • Proven track record in delivery of results.
    • Knowledge of fares, ticketing and reservation systems.
