CNG Technical Engineer at Dangote

• The CNG Technical Engineer is responsible for the installation, commissioning, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical support of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) systems and equipment.
• The role ensures that CNG facilities operate safely, efficiently, reliably, and in compliance with applicable engineering standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, review, install, commission, and maintain CNG systems and associated equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control-system faults.
• Monitor the performance of CNG compressors, dispensers, storage cascades, dryers, valves, pipelines, and related equipment.
• Develop preventive and corrective maintenance plans for CNG facilities.
• Conduct inspections, testing, and condition assessments of CNG equipment.
• Support CNG station construction, modification, expansion, and commissioning projects.
• Ensure equipment and installations comply with relevant safety, engineering, and regulatory standards.
• Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, inspection reports, and engineering documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, technicians, and other engineering teams.
• Investigate equipment failures and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor spare parts, technical materials, and critical equipment requirements.
• Participate in risk assessments, toolbox meetings, emergency drills, and HSE activities.
• Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and operations personnel.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree/HND in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
• Relevant professional certifications are an advantage.
•  Minimum of 5 years of experience in CNG, natural gas, oil & gas, industrial gas, or related engineering operations.
• Practical knowledge of CNG compression, storage, dispensing, piping, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings, P&IDs, equipment manuals, and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of applicable CNG, pressure-vessel, gas-pipeline, and HSE requirements.
