Cloud Platform Lead at Fosad Consulting

Job Summary

• We are seeking a seasoned Cloud Platform Lead to join the Cloud CoE team who are collectively responsible for designing, deploying, managing, and operating the cloud infrastructure platform to support applications and workloads.
• You will utilize your expertise across major cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and OCI combined with knowledge of automation tools and infrastructure-as-code practices to engineer modular, secure, scalable, and highly available foundations for cloud-hosted systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of Cloud Engineers
• Engineer a secure, highly available, and autoscaling infrastructure on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and OCI.
• Design and implement cloud infrastructure reference architectural blueprints/patterns, infrastructure components, shared services, and provisioning/deployment mechanisms.
• Maintain and support organization’s cloud management platform which provides governance, access controls and automation capabilities.
• Leverage infrastructure-as-code (IaC) methodologies along with native cloud services to simplify infrastructure provisioning and configuration while maximizing reuse and minimizing duplication.
• Monitor key metrics related to capacity, performance, availability, and optimization of cloud resources using native and third-party tools.
• Monitor infrastructure through robust logging, metrics collection, analysis and alerting strategy.
• Analyze infrastructure usage trends and costs to recommend optimizations and right-sizing strategies.
• Develop technical standards, policies, and procedures for lifecycle management of cloud resources.
• Work closely across teams like software engineering, security, and analytics to coordinate sharing, integration and management of infrastructure services.
• Collaborate with infosec and app teams on security controls.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of new cloud services, features, security best practices and their application for business workloads.
• Respond promptly to troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure related incidents and service requests

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.

Required Skills:

• 3 - 5 years in the same or very similar role.
• 3 - 5 years of hands-on experience with cloud platform infrastructure deployment/management.
• 3 - 5 years hands-on experience with Azure, AWS, OCI (in this order of preference).
• Strong understanding of infrastructure and cloud security principles and best practice.
• Solid understanding of core infrastructure technologies including Linux, Database, Networking, virtualization, storage.
• Good understanding of infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, ARM templates)
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams and end-users alike

Nice to have skills

• Multi-cloud experience supporting workloads on AWS + Azure or AWS + OCI.
• Container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes (AKS, EKS).
• Infrastructure compliance experience (HIPAA, PCI,SOC2)
