As a Cloud Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for planning, monitoring, and maintaining a dynamic infrastructure environment that includes VMware, Tanzu, Red Hat OpenShift, Azure, and Oracle Linux KVM. You will lead and support IT infrastructure projects, enforce security and compliance standards, and ensure seamless system operations through automation and proactive monitoring. This role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, supporting vendor management, and driving innovation through documentation and research.
Responsibilities
Plan and monitor complex virtual clusters and physical infrastructure to prevent service disruptions and ensure performance.
Deploy, configure, and manage hybrid cloud infrastructure environments and applications.
Develop and implement automation solutions to streamline processes and improve system efficiency.
Monitor real-time cloud system performance and address anomalies or incidents using ITIL techniques.
Design and implement disaster recovery solutions and backup strategies.
Coordinate and research advanced technologies such as AI, Hadoop, MongoDB, Oracle DB, Exchange, Infrastructure-as-Code, etc.
Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, including architecture diagrams, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Ensure software license compliance and maintain up-to-date inventory reports of all IT assets.
Identify opportunities for system enhancements and lead infrastructure project execution.
Non-Technical Responsibilities
Build and maintain collaborative relationships with business units and technical teams.
Understand infrastructure requirements and ensure timely, quality project delivery.
Liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders for pilot programs and proof of concepts.
Analyze business unit needs to inform infrastructure design and implementation.
Clearly communicate and align technical infrastructure solutions with business goals.
Promote knowledge management and drive best practice sharing within the department.
Engage in continuous self-development to stay current in evolving technology landscapes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related IT discipline (required).
3-4 years of experience in managing cloud and on-premises IT infrastructure.
Strong experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Tanzu, Red Hat OpenShift).
Proficiency in managing cloud environments (Azure preferred).
Familiarity with databases (Oracle, MongoDB), storage, and backup systems.
Understanding automation, scripting, and Infrastructure-as-Code principles.
Experience with ITIL practices and incident/problem management.
Excellent documentation and project execution skills.
Fluent in English; intermediate proficiency in local language.
