    Clinicians

    Number Needed: 3 slots.

    Job Summary

    Under the supervision of the medical doctor, the clinician will be responsible for provision of free of charge curative health consultations, Admission, daily/weekly medical follow-up, collection, computerization, and analysis of weekly epidemiological data and reporting and attendance to different meetings.

    Job Description

    • Provision of free of charge curative health consultations.
    • Prepare all the necessary drugs, material and equipment for health clinics and ensure all smooth running of the health facilities.
    • Follow the basic medical rules of hygiene when performing curative health consultations.
    • Participate actively in triage activities before starting curative health consultations.
    • Perform curative consultations:
      • Reason for consultation
      • Duration of the illness or complaints
      • Main symptoms
      • Past medical history and treatment
    • Perform a correct physical examination (Inspection, Palpation, Percussion, and auscultation) with systematic checking of signs of severity.
    • Give individual health education related to the patient’s disease.
    • Manage emergencies cases according to IMC protocols and regulation.
    • Fill in the registration form for each patient, according to the diagnosis of the morbidity surveillance form.
    • Check the immunization status for the EPI targeted children and refer the unvaccinated children to the vaccinator.
    • Investigate any information regarding unusual health events or diseases outbreaks, provided through any source.
    • Ensure patient confidentiality is respected and treat all the patients with respect and dignity.
    • Ensure that all the 06-59months children coming to the facility have been screened (MUAC, H/W, edemas)
    • Admit new cases and refer to OTP program according to the criteria of national nutrition protocol.
    • Refer complicated SAM cases to identified Stabilization Center
    • Perform the daily data collection regarding curative consultations.
    • Participate in the weekly computerization and analysis of medical data.
    • Prepare weekly activities report to submit to team leader/medical doctor.
    • Participate in a pro-active way to IMC internal meetings (medical, security)
    • Participate in all training organized by IMC.

    Others;

    • Give suggestions to improve the functioning of IMC health clinics.
    • Participate in weekly physical inventory of health facility pharmacy.
    • Be flexible in performing his/her duties to ensure that beneficiaries are getting good quality services.
    • Perform other additional duties on request of the team leader.
    • Inform immediately the security focal point in case of any security problem in the field.

    Requirements

    • At least 1 year of professional experience in relevant field (CHEW).
    • Diploma or equivalent or community advocacy field.
    • Strong communication and active listening skills.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with partners and with beneficiaries.
    • Dedication to the position and caring personality.
    • Language: fluency in at least two of the following languages: Hausa, Kanuri, shuwa, Marghi, Fulani.
    • Knowledge of English Languages is required.
    • Knowledge: Essential computer literacy (word, excel, and Internet).

    Actively promote PSEA (Prevention of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) standards within International Medical Corps and amongst beneficiaries served by International Medical Corps.
