    Climate Justice Advisor (Roving)

    The post holder will provide support to Strategic objectives of SPA II (Strategic Partnership Agreement II) to enable young people especially women and marginalized people in Nigeria and Liberia enjoy sustainable livelihoods through a climate accountable government and a green private sector. S/he will support the refinement and implementation of the S02 activities as well as support and further develop the climate change portfolio/ programme and the role of youth and also provide strategic advice to the SPA II programme on building resilience to climate change through capacity building, organizational change and provision of technical support and common tools, methods, and frameworks. ActionAid Nigeria is the host country for the role. 

    Person Specifications

    Education/Qualification

    • Master’s Degree in Social Sciences or Arts/Humanities is essential.
    • Membership of relevant professional Institute is desirable.

    Experience

    • At least five years’ experience in development, climate justice advocacy and alternatives is essential.
    • Proven experience in campaigning and advocacy engagement with government agencies is essential.
    • Experience in analysing global development issues including climate change, food security, corporate abuse is essential.

    Skill/Abilities

    • Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment, understanding the organizational hierarchy, patience, flexible and approachable.
    • Fundraising and resource mobilization experience 
    • Experience working with communities. 
    • Politically and culturally sensitive 
    • Diplomatic and respectful
    • Self-starter and innovator 
    • Multi-tasking skills
