Civil Engineer(Highway) at Bradama

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead our road construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, construction, and maintenance of roads, highways, and related infrastructure. The ideal candidate MUST have a strong background in civil engineering, excellent project management skills, and a proven track record of delivering complex road construction projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

• Project Management: Lead and manage road construction projects from conception to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
• Design and Planning: Develop and review designs, plans, and specifications for road construction projects, ensuring that they meet the required standards and regulations.
• Site Management: Oversee site operations, ensuring that construction activities are carried out safely, efficiently, and in accordance with the project plan.
• Team Management: Lead and manage a team of civil engineers, technicians, and other support staff, providing guidance, training, and development opportunities as needed.
• Stakeholder Management: Liaise with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities, to ensure that their needs are met and that projects are delivered to their satisfaction.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure that all construction activities are carried out in accordance with the required quality standards, and that all defects are identified and rectified promptly.
• Safety Management: Ensure that all construction activities are carried out safely, and that all risks are identified and mitigated promptly.
• Budgeting and Cost Control: Manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and that projects are delivered within budget.

Requirements:

• Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Experience: At least 7 years of experience in road construction, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
• Professional Registration: COREN Certified
• Skills: Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficient in CAD design software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management software, such as MS Project.
• Knowledge: Strong knowledge of road construction techniques, materials, and equipment. Familiarity with local and international standards and regulations, including safety and quality standards.
