Cinematography Trainee at Octoplus Marketing

• We are seeking a passionate and creative Cinematography Trainee to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals who have a keen interest in filmmaking, videography, and storytelling and are looking to develop hands-on experience in a professional setting. You will work closely with the creative team to capture, edit, and produce high-quality video content while learning the fundamentals of cinematography and video production.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in writing or adapting scripts for video projects.
• Help create visually compelling video content for clients and internal projects.
• Capture studio-quality photographs and videos both in-house and on-location.
• Collaborate with the creative team to develop a visual style and storytelling approach.
• Organize and assemble video segments to ensure smooth storytelling.
• Learn and manage technical aspects of video recording and editing.
• Perform basic video and audio editing to maintain logical sequencing and continuity.
• Support event coverage and documentation as needed.
• Work within a creative brief, developing and pitching ideas to meet client needs.
• Assist in developing an overall video branding strategy for various projects.
• Gain hands-on experience with professional video equipment and editing software.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Creative Arts, Cinematography, Film Production, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Basic knowledge of video editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Filmora, Davinci Resolve, etc.
• A strong passion for storytelling and visual creativity.
• 0-1 years of experience in videography, filmmaking, or content creation (internship experience is a plus).
• A portfolio showcasing video editing or cinematography projects is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, composition, and visual storytelling.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and take constructive feedback.
• Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of camera operation, lighting, and sound recording is an advantage.
