    Chief Security Officer

    JOB SUMMARY 

    The CSO is responsible for enhancing and improving physical security. He must identify organizational protection goals and objectives, ensuring they're consistent with their organizations' strategic plans. Part of a CSO's job is to work with other executives to decide on the priority of security needs and then spend according to an organization's financial constraints and directives. The CSO also oversee a network of security directors, managers and staff and work with local, state and federal law enforcement and other security agencies. The Chief Security Officer is the leader of the corporate/physical security function for the company, to include responsibility for overall corporate security strategy, security architecture development, and global function oversight. The scope of this role covers all utilized security technologies and services, including protection services, perimeter defenses, physical and logical access control of all employees, contractors and visitors.

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Oversee and coordinate security efforts across the company, including information technology, human resources, communications, legal, facilities management and other groups.
    • Identify security initiatives and standards.
    • Oversee network of vendors and directors who secure the company's assets.
    • Oversee safeguarding of intellectual property and computer systems.
    • Develop procedures to ensure physical safety of employees and visitors.
    • Manage the development and implementation of global security policy, standards, guidelines and procedures.
    • Ensure security is maintained and updated.
    • Create workplace violence awareness and prevention programs.
    • Implement video surveillance.
    • Prioritize security initiatives.
    • Develop network access and monitoring policies.
    • Maintain relationships with local, state and federal law enforcement and other related government agencies.
    • Develop emergency procedures and incident responses.
    • Investigate security breaches.
    • Implement disciplinary procedures.
    • Conduct audits to find holes in security platform.
    • Develop risk management assessments.
    • Create global security policy, standards, guidelines and procedures to ensure on-going maintenance of security.
    • Work closely with corporate executives, business managers, audit and legal counsel to understand corporate requirements related to security and regulatory compliance, and to map those requirements to current security projects.
    • Carry out any other responsibilities as assigned by the GMD

    Qualification /Experience;

    • BSC/HND in Criminology, Security Management or related fields
    • Possession of an MBA or equivalent is an added advantage.
    • Excellent communication & report writing skills
    • Minimum of 7 years relevant post-graduation experience across various industries 3 years out of which must be in Managerial position as Chief security Officer.
    • Professional qualifications in Securit

    Technical

    • Must be an intelligent, articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the senior management team and who is able to communicate security-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff.
    • Should have experience with business continuity planning, auditing, and risk management, as well as contract and vendor negotiation.
    • Must have strong working knowledge of pertinent law and the law enforcement community
    • Must have a solid understanding of information technology and information security
    • Strong analytical and critical reasoning and problem-solving skills
    • Project Planning, Reporting & Control
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and internet resources.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    • Proven leadership ability to influence, develop, and empower employees to achieve desired objectives.

    SALARY

    N200,000 - N250,000
