    Chief Risk Officer

    About the Job

    • We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Chief Risk Officer to lead the design and execution of a robust enterprise-wide risk management framework across our operations.
    • This role will ensure strong governance, regulatory compliance, and operational resilience, while proactively identifying and mitigating risks that could impact business continuity, financial performance, and strategic growth.
    • The CRO will work closely with executive leadership to embed a culture of risk awareness and safeguard organizational value.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive enterprise risk management (ERM) framework.
    • Establish risk policies, control systems, and performance metrics to monitor exposure.
    • Provide strategic risk insights to support executive decision-making.
    • Ensure full compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, quality, safety, and environmental standards.
    • Oversee internal and external audit processes and drive execution of audit plans.
    • Deliver timely and accurate risk and compliance reports to leadership.
    • Develop and maintain business continuity and disaster recovery frameworks across critical functions.
    • Strengthen internal controls to minimise operational disruptions and losses.
    • Embed risk management practices across business units.
    • Manage risk exposure across strategic partnerships and contractual relationships.
    • Drive high levels of SLA adherence and accountability.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to align risk management with business objectives.
    • Promote sustainability and responsible business practices.
    • Identify and implement initiatives to reduce operational losses and inefficiencies.
    • Support cost optimisation through improved resource and facilities management.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant discipline (Risk Management, Law, Finance, Engineering, Business Administration or related field). Minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) for Bachelor’s degree holders or Upper Credit for HND holders is required.
    • Relevant professional certifications such as CRISC, CISA, CISM, ISO 31000, NEBOSH, IRCA, or equivalent are an added advantage.
    • Minimum of 10–15 years’ experience in risk management, compliance, internal audit, or governance roles.
    • Proven experience operating at a senior or executive leadership level.
    • Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks, quality systems, and enterprise risk practices.
    • Demonstrated ability to design and implement control systems and risk frameworks.
