To ensure the maintenance of safe operating procedures and standards as laid down by the management in the followings areas: Fleet; Flight Training and Standards; and Flight Safety.
To establish and maintain a working relationship with the NCAA that will ensure effective and efficient communications between EALL and the Authority.
To direct a coordinated management strategy that will ensure the effective management of the flight crew community, with the objective of meeting business needs. This includes the establishment and development of management to deliver operational management of the fleets.
To develop initiatives, including anticipating and evaluating options, in order that the Flight Operations Department is best placed to meet and respond to changing business needs.
To initiate, plan, direct and coordinate, as required, any project management activities within the department.
To determine the safe and efficient deployment of flight crew resources between the fleets in order to meet the commercial program, drawing on inputs from the training administration management and Crew Scheduling. This includes the assessment of aircraft deployment plans as they emerge from the commercial department and the development of a coherent departmental response.
To ensure the development and deployment of cost effective information management systems, with the particular objective of addressing the operational challenges associated with the management and control of an itinerant and absent workforce.
To ensure the provision of the required expertise and strategy to increase timely and effective communications at all levels between management and also with crew/ground staff with the aim of generating improved performance and greater business understanding.
To ensure that the Head of Operations is properly briefed on all major issues and concerns that fall within the Chief Pilot’s responsibility.
Approval authority for issuing and amending the Operations Manual.
For the formulation of the Company Fuel Policy including the company fuel conservation program.
Other responsibilities as listed in the applicable section of the EAL OMA.
Qualifications
Degree or equivalent in Management.
5 years experience as PIC in commercial air transport operations.
An ATP license with the appropriate ratings for at least one of the Aircraft used by EAL AOC, unless a deviation is issued by the Authority
