    Chief Executive Officer

    Job 01. CEO Reference Code ED/202317/01/1

    DEC is currently seeking an experienced Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to oversee its social and microcredit  operations, functions, and activities within the organization. The candidate’s skills and confidence are needed to shoulder the responsibility of providing organization -wide strategic direction and implementing a progressive vision for the future.

     Requirements and Qualifications

    • Minimum of 5 years hands on experience at managerial level with clear evidence that candidate has managed organization(s) with minimum of 200 employees
    • Must have attended management level courses in the last five years
    • Candidate’s track record of direct involvement in promoting women empowerment and or community economic initiatives for livelihoods is a must.
    • Experience and exposure in handling donor funded social services programs/ interventions and has been directly involved in Microcredit operations
    • Candidate has served on or related with Board teams of organizations especially non-governmental organization in the last five (5) years.
    • First degree (higher degree added advantage) in Business or Public Administration, social work, or development related area

    Required Skills and Competencies

    • Trustworthy of women’s money
    • Strong written, oral communication skills, and public speaking ability
    • Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, strong organizational abilities ability to convey the vision of DEC’s strategic future to staff, Board, Partners and Donors
    • Ability to interface and engage diverse partners and donor groups to collaborate with Board members and other partners to develop and implement strategies that will successfully promote the organization’s mission and increase penetration.
    • Cultivate comprehensive business plans aimed to realize the goals and objectives set by the board of directors.
    • Drive to collaborate well and assemble an effective team of management.
    • Commitment to providing excellent guidance and coaching to subordinate managers.
    • Capable of complying with all statutory requirements, internal policies and legal regulations in every area of the organization’s daily activities, including fostering development of short and long-term plans, policies, and guidelines in this area.
    • Outstanding management skills to direct and oversee investments and fundraising efforts.
    • Aptitude for forging and maintaining fruitful relationships of trust with stakeholders, partners, and external authorities.
    • Poise and strength of character needed to be the public face representing the organization, remaining ever mindful of the need to maintain good PR standing
    • Ability to review and provide constructive feedback on reports made by subordinate managers.
    • Ability to work well under pressure, take proactive measures against possible challenges, and resolve issues quickly, managing crises rapidly and effectively when necessary.
