    Chief Compliance and Risk Officer

    Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement robust compliance policies and measures that align with regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor and report on compliance status, implement corrective actions, and communicate significant issues to the management board.
    • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial and operational information
    • Lead the organization's efforts in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across all departments.
    • Conduct regular compliance and risk assessment audits, reporting findings to the senior management and devise strategies to mitigate compliance risks.
    • Facilitate internal and external audits to assess the effectiveness of the compliance program and implement corrective actions.
    • Conduct due diligence on third-party relationships to ensure compliance standards are met.
    • Work closely with the legal department to interpret laws and regulations and provide guidance on compliance matters.
    • Monitor and ensure timeliness, completeness and accuracy of all statutory and regulatory reports to relevant authorities.
    • Provide training to employees on compliance policies and foster a culture of adherence to ethical standards.
    • Stay abreast of regulatory updates and industry requirements.

    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Law, Management or a related field.
    • Relevant professional certifications e.g ICAN, ACCA, etc
    • Minimum of 7 years proven work experience in Risk and compliance department in a financial service industry.
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in a senior management level
    • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian regulatory requirements, including financial regulations, anti-money laundering laws, and data protection regulations.
    • Strong investigative, analytical and risk management skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Strong flexibility and commitment to continuous improvement.
    • Exceptional leadership and people management skills.
    • Familiarity with relevant regulations and compliance standards.
