Chief Accounting Officer at Yes FM

Role Description

• This is a full-time, on-site role located in Ibadan for a Chief Accounting Officer (Candidate must already live in ibadan, preferably within close proximity to the radio station). The Chief Accounting Officer will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing financial records (including bookkeeping, account reconciliation, payroll, and finahcial reporting to ensure accuracy & compliance, tax compliance & statutory filings) and conducting financial analysis. The ideal candidate must be trustworthy, detail-driven, discreet, and able to handle sensitive financial information with complete integrity.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• General Accounting: Maintain general ledgers, process invoices, prepare journal entries, and handle reconciliations for bank accounts
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss statements.
• Budgeting and Monitoring: Track project expenditures against budgets, monitor cash flow, and report on variances.
• Compliance and Audit: Ensure adherence to tax laws, internal policies, and support external audits.
• Payroll and Administration: Process payroll and manage, record, and verify receipts and payments.

Qualifications

• B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum of 2-4 years accounting experience (media or FMCG background is an advantage).
• Experience preparing financial reports for senior management is an added asset.
• Excellent Excel proficiency (Pivot tables, reconciliation formulas, basic financial modelling) or other accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, or equivalent).
• Strong numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and documentation discipline.
